Coat of paint
The germ of the idea from this comic comes from my own attempts to be greener in my purchases. I know they say to vote with your money but when almost everything you can buy has some toxic trail behind it, I feel like I’m going to end up dressing in a barrel like a cartoon gambling addict. But that barrel is probably made from rainforest wood so I’ll end up in the Emperor’s New Clothes instead.
I hope this comic comes off not as preachy but as comdeically frustrated. It’s hard to do an environmentally messaged strip without being on soapbox. If it does, just reread the first panel 5 times instead.

On panel 3 shouldn’t it be fiber?

FIbre is the Canadian spelling but I appreciate anyone pointing out typos! Or handwritingos. Thanks!

Eh, I guess that’s why second hand shops like Good Will and Value Village are useful. You don’t give more money to the original makers when you buy stuff.
Although I guess that’s more difficult to deal with in non-clothes purchases.

Honestly I mostly just go for a damage control approach to green shopping. I know I can’t completely avoid harmful purchases, but a lot of the worst stuff is fairly shoddy anyway.
